Lander University students Veronica Orndoff, left, of Greenwood, and Brantlee Collins, of Chapin are shown outside Greenwood’s United Center for Community Care, where they assisted with the annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser, the primary fundraising event for the Greenwood Soup Kitchen. Orndoff and Collins, members of the Alpha Kappa Delta sociology honors society, assisted with getting participants and the estimated 600 bowls they made for the event into the building without incident. “It greatly pleases us to see sociology students engaged in community service,” said Professor of Sociology Dr. Lucas McMillan, dean of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences.
